Say No To Say Yes

No amount of productivity tools can help you if you don’t say no more often.

Some days I am grateful for the things I don’t have as much as I am for the things I do have. And sometimes I am grateful I remember I have the power to say no to things.

I get to teach about productivity and its connection to profitability. There is a direct correlation between being more productive and being more profitable.

And that starts with saying no to many things so I can say yes to many other things.

That means saying no to:

  • The things I’m not good at – and that I know someone else is good at.
  • The things that don’t bring me joy and that don’t absolutely have to happen.
  • The people who drain my energy.

I’m a work in progress on this. I say yes more than I should, and I leverage technology tools to help me when I have to get them done and it would take me forever to get them done myself (if I can even do them myself).

I have three helpful and not too expensive tools that help me say yes to things I know need to get done but that I don’t want to do and still GSD (get stuff done) are:

  • Fancy Hands – for those quick tasks I dread doing like researching stats for my presentations and content.
  • Fiverr – for creating PowerPoint slides and other graphics that I am simply not good at.
  • Wave – for creating good looking invoices and reminding my clients to to pay me so I don’t have to be a pain (until after a while).

Do you struggle with this too? What are your favorite ways or tools to GSD when you need to get them done and you can’t say no?
